2019 Alternate Auditions
2019 ECKMEA District Audition and NAfME Conflict Policy
Students who participated in the February 2019 Kansas All-State
Ensembles qualify to audition for the 2019 NAfME National Honor
Ensembles. (Being a member of our Kansas All-State Choir, Band, Jazz
Band or Orchestra is required for a student to audition for the NAfME
ensembles.) If selected, these students will be attending the NAfME
conference from November 7-9, 2019. The East Central District is holding
District Auditions at Olathe East on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
In order to support the students who are selected for the 2019 NAfME ensembles,
we will offer an alternative audition date with specific procedures in place to allow those students
to audition for the 2019-20 ECKMEA District Honor Groups. Membership in the State
instrumental ensembles will still be determined at the Live Auditions in
January. No other exceptions will be made for any other reason, as has
been our policy in the past.
